transplant fun!

It is raining today, and I think it may rain all weekend. This will make my garden happy, but my greenroom plants may droop a little without the sun.

Here are some photos of last weekend's re-potting and transplanting. Everything pictured in the greenroom seems to be happy :) Pictured prominently to the right is my tray of lettuces. In fact, the shelf above is also full of lettuce (and some budding Hollyhock). I think I may end up having enough lettuce to feed a village!

Zucchini, summer squash, and cucumber all doing well. These were started from seed three weeks ago. Again, I think it may be overkill. The problem is that one never knows if all the seeds will germinate. Clearly, that was not the problem with these little guys.

Heirlooms and yellow pepper happy to be in a gallon pot! I can't until they are ready to be placed in their large pots on the deck. I am already dreaming of all that I will do with my tomatoes once they are ready for harvest ...

Adventures in Gardening

This morning was spent planting! Included in these pics is my burgeoning greenroom, which will house my seedlings once they are ready to be transplanted. I have to say, I have been amazed by the whole seed to seedling process -- so fun!

Salut!

For several years friends and family have encouraged me to share my passion for food and wine. So here it is: Simply Synaesthesia.

Strange name, right!?! Synaesthesia is a confusion of the senses, which best describes what happens to me when I am preparing a meal. Sight becomes taste, and sound inspires smell with touch bringing it all together. Food and drink are sensual experiences for me.

Gardening is equally satisfying, yet it is not always as successful. This year, for the first time, I am growing herbs and vegetables that will travel straight from the garden to my kitchen. I hope this will increase both the flavor and the creativity of my gastronomic adventures!
